NATURE STRUCTURE
Experiments on the boundry between maths, biology and physics
Details and Theory
The diversity of nature is overwhelming. Ancient redwood trees, colourful blossoms, camouflaging animal fur patterns – it is truly amazing what complexity evolution keeps producing. And at least as astonishing that there are often amazingly simple mathematical principles behind it. This idea fascinates Dr Robert Richter. If you walk through the world with your eyes open like he does, you will discover mathematics in honeycombs, snowflakes or spider webs – and even in vegetable shelves. With his stations in the Futurium, he wants to show how efficient nature is, what principles lie behind it – and what we can learn from it for the future.
